The Reality of an eternal hell (Hell's questions answered).
People of the world I've written this page to show you from God's Holy Word that a literal hell exists and that it is indeed eternal. This page was written to answer your questions on hell. Therefore, I entitled it Hell's questions answered. So, let us begin.
Facts everyone needs to know about hell.
1. Hell is not a fabrication, it's not a myth, nor is hell a metaphorical place. Hell is indeed a real literal eternal place. God says so and the bible tells us that it is impossible for God to lie. Read (Luke 16:19-31) (Matthew 13:42,50) (Matthew 18:8-9) (Matthew 25:41) (Revelation 14:10) (Revelation 20:14-15) (Revelation 21:8) (Isaiah 66:24) (Hebrews 6:18) (Titus 1:2).
Here below are just a few bible verses that prove hell's eternal existence and a few bible verses that prove it is impossible for God to lie.
Matthew 13:42 (KJV)
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Matthew 25:41 (KJV)
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Revelation 20:14-15 (KJV)
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Revelation 21:8 (KJV)
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Hebrews 6:18 (KJV)
18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
Titus 1:2 (KJV)
2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
2. One may ask who goes to hell? The bible teaches us that everyone who ultimately dies without believing in Christ Jesus as Savior will be condemned by God and will go to hell eternally.
Read (John 3:18, 36) (John 8:24).
John 3:18, 36, (KJV)
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
John 8:24 (KJV)
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
3. Once you are there in hell you're there forever and your eternal fate is sealed forever. This means there is no second chance for your salvation and you are never getting out of there. Let's read here below for bible proof of this. Read (Luke 16:19-31).
Luke 16:19-31 (KJV)
19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
4. Annihilationism is a lie, annihilationism is not true. You do not perish in hell as in non-existing. This is because every human being is made In the image and likeness of God. God made you an eternal being on purpose. Therefore, because all these biblical principles are indeed true this means you will be conscious and awake throughout all your suffering and torment for all of eternity! Read (Genesis 1:26-27) (Luke 16:19-31).
5. Just as Heaven is far greater than what the human mind can comprehend (1 Corinthians 2:9) likewise Hell is far worse than your finite mind can ever begin to comprehend. This is because of three main reasons. Reason #1. Hell was not created for humans at all it was created for the devil and his demons and therefore hell will be far worse than your finite mind can ever comprehend. Reason #2. None of God's gracious attributes will be there in hell. Meaning God's love will not be there, his grace and mercy will not be there, his forgiveness, joy, freedom and life will not be there, light will not be there, rest, food and water will not be there. Shelter will not be there. These things are all gracious attributes and gifts of God. So therefore, because all these things will not be in hell this is why hell will be far worse than your finite mind can ever comprehend. Reason #3. Hell is in an eternal realm it is in eternity therefore its impossible for you to compare the pain, suffering of this world to that which is eternal (Matthew 25:41) (Luke 16:19-31). Therefore, because this biblical truth is indeed true this is why hell will be far worse than your finite mind can ever comprehend.
6. If you are there in hell you are under the judgement and wrath of Almighty God! You are one who is eternally condemned, you will never be forgiven of your sin of ultimately not believing in Christ as Savior, and you are one who will be forever separated from God (John 3:18, 36) (John 8:24, 44).
7. If your mind can fathom it. The bible teaches hell gets worse for the unbeliever! One may say how can it possibly get any worse. The bible says death and hell will be tossed into the eternal lake of fire which is the second death (Revelation 20:14)!
Revelation 20:14 (KJV)
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
8. The bible teaches us that hell has an eternal unquenchable fire where their worm dieth not. The bible clearly says that the fires in hell are eternal and that they shall never be quenched (Matthew 3:12) (Mark 9:43-45) (Luke 3:17) (Revelation 14:9-11) (Jude 1:6-7)!
Matthew 3:12 (KJV)
12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
Revelation 14:9-11 (KJV)
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Jude 1:6-7 (KJV)
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
9. The bible teaches that in hell you will be suffering, you will be in agony and you will be in torment. You will be one who will want to die but cannot since you are made an eternal being. Read (Luke 16:19-31).
10. You will not be confused as to why you are there. Everyone in hell will know that they are there for their unbelief in Jesus The Savior.
11. You will forever be thirsty, hungry, and naked. This is both literally, physically, and spiritually. Read (Luke 16:19-31) (John 4:10-15) (John 6:35).
Summary
Reincarnation is a lie. Reincarnation is not true. Reincarnation is the false teaching that teaches after one dies they come back to life as another person of their choosing or another animal in a future time. This is nonsense and is not a biblical teaching. The Holy bible teaches no such thing. The bible teaches us that it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement (Hebrews 9:27). The bible teaches us to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). This is true for the believer in Christ. If you are a born again believer in Christ after you die you go to be with The Lord Jesus in heaven. However, if you die as an unbeliever in Christ you will not go to heaven you will go straight to an eternal hell forevermore.
Soul Sleep is a lie. Soul sleep is not true. Soul sleep is the false teaching that teaches once a person dies their soul and spirit remains in the grave along with their deceased body.
Annihilationism is a lie. Annihilationism is not true. The bible clearly teaches us that no one will be saved by God apart from faith in Christ. Annihilationism is not true. After death all unbelievers in Christ will go to this literal eternal place called hell where they will be consciously tormented forever in the lake of fire for their unbelief in The Holy Son of God Jesus Christ.
Purgatory is a lie. Purgatory is not true. False teachers believe in purgatory. The reason they believe this is because they don't understand nor believe in the true biblical gospel of grace. And because they don't believe in the gospel of grace they have not yet believed in the biblical Christ and thus they are not saved. If you believe in purgatory it automatically shows you don't believe in the finished work of Christ. You cannot believe in purgatory and in the finished work of Christ at the same time. It is literally impossible. If you believe in purgatory, you do not believe in the finished work of Christ. And if you truly believe in the finished work of Christ you will not believe in purgatory. However, If you still insist on believing in purgatory it shows you truly do not believe nor understand that Jesus paid the full penalty already for all our sins on that cross. There are no more sins to be paid for because our Savior Jesus paid it all. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for the believer in Christ (Romans 8:1). So, if you truly believe Jesus paid the full price for all our sins at the cross what then is the need for purgatory? Besides all this purgatory is not a biblical teaching. Purgatory is taught nowhere in the Bible. And since purgatory is not in the bible why are you believing things that's not in the bible?
Many people falsely believe that the devil oversees hell and that somehow, he will not be suffering in eternal hellfire like the rest of unbelievers. Right now, the devil our adversary is on the earth prowling around as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour the bible says (1 Peter 5:8). He is not suffering in the fires of hell at this very moment. However, in the future he too will be tossed into the eternal lakes of fire along with all those who don't believe in Christ Jesus as Savior. The bible teaches us that unbelievers, the beast, the false prophet and the devil, all end up in the eternal lakes of fire in the end. My point is that He is not in charge our God is. My point is one day in the future the devil too will be tossed into the eternal lakes of fire. And the bible teaches us that all those in hell are under the judgement and wrath of God. Read (Revelation 21:8) (Revelation 19:20) (Revelation 20:10, 14-15) (John 3:36).
Heaven and Hell are not metaphorical places. The bible teaches us that Heaven and Hell both are real literal eternal places where one will spend their eternity.
You will be conscious and awake through all your eternal torment and suffering.
Once you are there in hell you will never have another chance to believe the gospel and to be saved by God.
You will never get out of hell once you are placed there. Hell is not temporary. Hell is eternal.
There is no water, food, clothing, shelter, light, life, joy, freedom, etc. in hell.
It is not a mistake that you are in hell either God makes no mistakes. Neither is it God's fault that you are in hell. God has given everyone many chances to believe in Christ Jesus His Son. Everyone in hell is there because of their genuine unbelief in Jesus The Savior The Holy Son of God.
God does not choose people to go to hell before they are born. This is a dangerous false teaching of Calvinism that does not come from the Holy bible. Gods word does not teach this blasphemous heresy. God is love and He did not choose anyone to go to hell. The bible says God wants none to perish therefore he wants; he desires none to go to hell (2 Peter 3:9) (Ezekiel 18:32) (1 John 4:8-10).
The sad part is God never wanted nor intended for any human being to go to hell. In fact, hell was not created for humans at all. Hell was created for the devil and his demons (Matthew 25:41).
In hell you are under the wrath and judgement of God.
You will not be confused as to why you are there. Everyone in hell will know why they are there. Everyone will soon realize that they are there for their unbelief in Jesus The Savior.
The bible says that in hell there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. This means people will be weeping and crying bitterly and they will also be gnashing their teeth in pain (Matthew 13:42) (Luke 13:27-28).
Why talk about hell? This is because the bible plainly teaches the truth of its eternal existence. Suppressing hells existence, disregarding it or not telling people about hell does not remove its existence. An eternal hell exists people of the world whether you like it or not. God warns us and tells us the truth about hell in His Holy Word because He loves us and wants us to know the truth. God does not want us to be deceived or to be in darkness. The bible teaches us that it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God (Hebrews 10:31). If you go to hell no one in all of existence can help you then for you will be under the very wrath of God himself.
Why go to hell people of the world when you don't have to? People of the world no one has to go to hell. God offers all of mankind a free gift of salvation through Christ Jesus His Son. Let's look at a few bible verses together here below that prove this.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Romans 6:23 (KJV)
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The bible says anyone who calls on the name of The Lord Jesus to save them will be saved by God (Romans 10:13). Let's look at proof of this here below.
Romans 10:13 (KJV)
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Salvation really is that simple. Yes anyone who believes on The Son Jesus for eternal life will be forgiven of all their sins and will be rewarded a free gift that they don't deserve which is everlasting life through Christ Jesus our Lord (John 3:14-18) (John 6:40, 47) (Romans 6:23). God doesn't want one person to go to hell. Therefore, he warns us in his word ahead of time so we can avoid it at all costs. However if you do not believe that Jesus is exactly who he claimed to be The Christ the one and only Savior of the whole world then an eternal hell awaits you (Matthew 16:13-17) (John 3:36) (John 8:24, 58) (John 20:31).
Jesus said in John 8:24
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
Conclusion:
The Reality of an eternal hell motivates me even more to preach the gospel of grace to the entire world. Contrary to popular belief everyone is not a child of God and everyone is not going to heaven. Only those who believe in Jesus Christ as Savior are the true children of God. The bible is clear on this. Read (Galatians 3:26) (John 1:12) (1 John 5:1) (Romans 8:14, 29). This means if you do not currently believe in Jesus Christ as Savior you are not a child of God and are currently on your way to hell right now as your reading this page. Read (Romans 8:9) (Ephesians 2:1-3) (John 8:44) (1 John 3:10-24) (1 John 5:19). The bible does not teach everyone is going to heaven. These false teachings are found nowhere in Scripture and come straight from the devil himself. In fact, the bible teaches that most people will reject Christ Jesus as Savior thus most people will choose the broad road that leads to destruction (hell) (Matthew 7:13-14).
John 14:6 (KJV)
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 10:9 (KJV)
9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
1 Timothy 2:4-6 (KJV)
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 (KJV)
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
John 5:24 (KJV)
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 6:40, 47 (KJV)
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. 47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Acts 4:12 (KJV)
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Acts 10:43 (KJV)
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
Acts 13:38-39 (KJV)
38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: 39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
John 20:31 (KJV)
31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
Romans 10:9-13 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
1 John 5:11-13 (KJV)
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
John 3:16-18 (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Acts 16:30-31 (KJV)
30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
